PHRYGIA. Laodicea ad Lycum. Aelius, Caesar, 136-138. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 32 mm, 16.69 g, 6 h). ΛΟΥΚΙΟϹ•ΑΙΛΙΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ Bare head of Aelius to right. Rev. ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΩΝ Hygieia, on the left, standing right, feeding serpent from patera, facing Asklepios, on the right, standing front, head to left, leaning right on serpent-entwined staff. RPC III 2338.4 (this coin). Very rare. A beautiful coin with a very attractive apple green patina. Somewhat rough and with some deposits, otherwise, about extremely fine.
